More Time

To run your business

To put it simply, we have owned and managed affiliates, and know how much time and energy it takes to run an affiliate.

We as affiliate owners know how much time is “lost” doing the little things: mopping the floors, cleaning bathrooms, taking out the trash, paying the bills, and more. We aim to save you and your team an estimated 10+ hours per week.

Our goal at HAM Plan is to enable you to spend time with what matters most: coaching your members and forming a community.

Education

For your coaches

Coaching is a skill. Running an affiliate is a skill. Treating ourselves professionally starts with acknowledging the service we offer as a skill. When nurtured, skills will grow, improve, and stand out.

From our programming notes to our class plans and our movement videos to our workout demos, we want to share what we have learned with you. Our lessons learned are here for you as well as your coaches to learn, improve, and deliver more to your members. Beyond programming we offer education based on experience.

Results

For your members

We are here because we all want to be better, feel better, or perform better, but we don’t all pay attention to or record our progress in the same way. What if we gave everyone the opportunity to pause and see their own success?

Though HAM Plan is at its core a general physical preparedness program, we build in new monthly focuses that target the peskiest skills and our favorite workouts and movements. One month is just long enough for everyone to see results and not too long that we lose sight of what we were working toward in the first place.

What’s Included

4 Programs for 1 Price

Affiliate Workouts

Great affiliate workouts should keep everyone safe, give everyone a chance to learn or practice something new each day, and provide an appropriate yet enjoyable challenge for every ability level in your gym. Workouts, scaling options, in-gym logistics, workout goals, notes, and warm-ups — we will do the heavy lifting for you.

HAMCompete

You are a fitness resource for athletes of various ability levels and goals. We want to make sure that when you want to offer your athletes more, you can. The HAMCompete program tracks seamlessly with our affiliate program while providing detailed notes that guide you and your athletes through increased volume and intensity.

Lifting

In addition to the 1-2 lifts that are included in our weekly Affiliate program, you will also get access to our Lifting program, which will give your athletes extra strength work or even enable you to offer a specialty lifting class. You will have the same level of detailed workout guidance (scaling, goals, modifications, and substitutions) that brings all of our programming to life.

HAM at Home

HAM at Home is here to make sure that you are the only fitness resource your athletes need. Whether they are in your gym, at home, or on the road, they never have to miss a workout from you. No equipment, no problem. These daily workouts include demo videos, scaling options, warm-ups, and accessory work.

What your athletes will see

In-Class Workouts

We provide 7 days of workouts per week. Broken down by modality, time, and loading stimulus, they are presented to provide education for your coaches and accessibility for your athletes.

Level Options

The best coaching work occurs when we provide athletes of all levels and abilities the best hour of their day. Leveled scaling options are a quick guide for you, your coaches, and your athletes. They are not firm rules and can be tweaked if needed. Each level option is adjusted to meet the time, loading, and technical stimulus of the workout based on three different ability levels.

Accessory + Stretching Sessions

Athletes often ask for more. Time and time again, we have found that a little goes a long way. Accessory and stretching options add just that “little extra” that everyone wants without overwhelming your timelines, coaches, or workout space. If they don’t fit into your class plan, they are simple enough for athletes to do outside of class on their own.

Extra Work Sessions

Our extra work sessions are designed to target the most common weaknesses we have noticed in the affiliate community and are meant to be completed outside of class. If you have the space and trust in your athletes, then you can offer them these extra work sessions, which are straightforward and include scaling and substitution guidelines.

Monthly Focus

Constantly Varied Does Not Mean Random

We believe that a well thought out general physical preparedness (GPP) program based on variance and coupled with consistency will make us fitter for a lifetime. It’s worked for us, our affiliates, and our athletes for the last decade. Along the way, we also learned that effective variance over time can start to feel monotonous. Even though well-varied programs methodically deliver results, it’s easy to lose track of our progress.

The monthly focus is one tool we use to maintain the benefits of a well-varied program while intentionally focusing on specific areas we all need help with — keeping our workouts engaging over time and enabling us to see results. Each month provides a new focus where we increase the number of times the focus element occurs, while still staying well-rounded. The monthly focus might tackle a broader goal (like improving gymnastics movements) or a pesky subset of skills we all struggle with (such as the squat snatch).

Most importantly, the monthly focus increases engagement. Newer athletes find comfort and confidence when they have less to think about. At the same time, veteran athletes have the chance to fine tune lingering weaknesses or simply take a break from the “same old, same old” routine. Coaches will also find it easier to prioritize coaching tasks in large class settings and address a broader spectrum of athlete skill levels. For everyone, the monthly focus provides a re-energizing attention to work hard and have fun.

Data & Analytics Driven Programming

Weekly Overview + Analytics

We want you, your coaches, and your athletes to understand the why behind our programming.

The first thing you will see in each week’s Class Plan is the Weekly Overview, which provides a summary of the monthly focus as well as a list of the workouts and associated stimulus and training modalities. At a quick glance, you will get a sense of what the week ahead has in store.

The Weekly Overview and other analytics we provide are intended to let your athletes and coaches know what to expect and give them an opportunity to plan ahead as well as set goals. Athletes can use this information to know which days to push harder or prioritize recovery, and coaches can use it to set their members up for success.

We believe that measuring is a key ingredient for continuous improvement, and we use data and analytics to both plan for the future as well as measure the effectiveness of our program.

Class Plan Breakdown

An in-depth look at each component of a class plan

Stimulus

Coaches start here: The stimulus is the intended length, feel, complexity, and volume of the workout.

All athletes should experience a similar stimulus relative to their ability level. If we have a heavy, 10-15 minute workout then all athletes should finish the workout in 10-15 minutes and feel like their barbell was “heavy” for them.

The first step in guiding them to this goal is understanding the stimulus; we take out the guesswork.

Level System

We designed the Level System to help athletes improve their fitness, not hold them back.

This will help you and your athletes determine how to modify workouts so the intended stimulus can be reached.

Remember that athletes don’t have to be bound to a single option. You can help them choose elements from any Level in order to create a workout that helps the athletes reach their goals.

Scaling

Scaling options are supplemental tools to help you guide your athletes to a workout version that is best for them and will fit for your class timeline.

If one of the Level System options doesn’t fit quite right, the scaling options can help you modify the workout to help your athletes reach the intended workout stimulus. Remember, they are just guidelines and suggestions.

Timeline

Classes should run on time.

This is easier said than done, but we share a general timeline to help you navigate workouts, warm-ups, and cool-downs of different lengths.

We always try to leave some extra room in the timeline to accommodate any logistical needs specific to your equipment and your gym.

Logistics

Workouts, gyms, classes, and equipment come in all different shapes and sizes. Some fit more or less easily into your plan for that day.

The Logistics section of every class plan provides you a “heads up” for those workouts or movements that might require a little extra set-up or care during your class.

We also provide insight and suggestions into possible changes and modifications to best suit you, your gym, and your athletes.

Movement Subs

We realize that equipment, injury, and space limitations occur.

These substitutions are meant to help you attend to these limitations while achieving the intended stimulus within the suggested class timeline.

We hope you don’t need to use these often, but they are there just in case.

Warm-ups

We think warm-ups are a coach’s “secret weapon.”

We like to use them to improve skills, strengthen our athletes, provide coaching opportunities, and warm our athletes up.

Each day provides a unique warm-up specifically tailored to that workout.

We also share the goals of the general and specific warm-ups to enable you to tweak the details while staying on target.

Accessory + Stretching
